4-10-14 Commercial King Mackerel Fishing With Capt. Kevin Of Rigged and Ready Charters
First day commercial King Mackerel fishing this year and the fish were chewing the props off the motors. Great fishing this time of year offshore and Grouper season opens up May first. A 15% tip is customary for the Captain if you have a good trip! 10 hours offshore-$1100 11 hours offshore-$1200 12 hours offshore-$1300 Gulf Stream: 12 to 15 hours-$1600 This trip will take you to the edge of the Gulf Stream and continental shelf, over 60 miles offshore where you will likely encounter some of the biggest, strongest and best eating game fish in the ocean. Total fishing time is roughly 9 hours. The trip typically includes trolling to target top-water trophy game fish with an option to also deep-water, vertical jig for big bottom fish. This trip is for serious fishermen as the ride offshore will take 2-3 hours. However, the bounty of the Gulf Stream can be very rewarding. Today we had an incredible adventure. We left the dock at 5am sharp and pointed the bow offshore in search of Wahoo some 78 miles from the dock!!! Our crew consisted of some very good fishermen and when it comes to fishing for Wahoo and Tuna it takes ( TEAM WORK). Our biggest fish came off the long line and absolutely blistered the line off the reel. One of the best runs I've heard in a awhile. Long story short it took 4 grown men taking turns to battle this one Wahoo. This fish had plans and he wasn't about to give up! The amazing part of this fish tale is he was only a mid 50 lb fish. All in all it was a great day and we were blessed with good weather and nice fish. Check out the pictures below

Hey Guys and Gulls!!!!! I just wanted to take quick moment and go over a few details with you if your thinking about going fishing while you and your family are on vacation this year. First off I would like to say that if you book your fishing trip with Rigged and Ready Charters I will do everything I can to make sure you and your guests have a great time and catch some fish. The King Mackerel fishing will also really heat up in late March, April, and May.
Backwater fishing can also offer some very good fishing for Redfish this time of year!!!!
