April 2014 Holden Beach Fishing Report

4-27-14 Gulf Stream jigging And Bottom Fishing!!!!!!

Took a very good group of guys out on Sunday to the Gulf Stream. We started out trolling and the first few hours were extremely slow.  We did manage to pull out about a 30 lb King Mackerel while we were trolling and then we all decided to do some bottom fishing because our plan was to fill the coolers up and that's what we did!!! We switched over to Jigging and the first line down got hammered by a mid 40lb Jack. It was fish on from the time we started bottom fishing till the time we stopped. Our trophy fish of the day was a nice 45lb Cobia. Ended the day with a box slam full of fish!!!!! image image

4-17-14 Backwater Fishing For Red Drum

Today I had the opportunity to run two 1/2 day backwater trips. The first trip I was joined with the Lewis family and they had two young kids that caught fish from the time we started till the time we finished. I remember one kid saying " this is the mostest fish I've ever caught in one day". To me that's what it's all about, showing and teaching the next generation how to catch fish!!! Next weeks weather looks really nice. If you want to catch fish and have a good time give me a call at 910-448-3474. From Pinfish in the creeks to Blue Marlin in the Gulf Stream Capt. Kevin of Rigged and Ready Charters has you and your friends and family covered. imageimage

4-1-14 Gulf Stream Fishing Aboard The Rigged and Ready!!!!!!!

Today we had an incredible adventure. We left the dock at 5am sharp and pointed the bow offshore in search of Wahoo some 78 miles from the dock!!!  Our crew consisted of some very good fishermen and when it comes to fishing for Wahoo and Tuna it takes ( TEAM WORK). Our biggest fish came off the long line and absolutely blistered the line off the reel. One of the best runs I've heard in a awhile. Long story short it took 4 grown men taking turns to battle this one Wahoo. This fish had plans and he wasn't about to give up! The amazing part of this fish tale is he was only a mid 50 lb fish. All in all it was a great day  and we were blessed with good weather and nice fish. Check out the pictures below imageimageimage
